LCF Secretary

At the 2006 NSW Minerals Councils Conference Awards Bill was presented with Community Excellence and Peoples Choice Awards for Barrick's community engagement success in developing the Cowal Gold Mine. In 2009 Barrick again was the major award winner in the Community and Environment Excellence Awards section based on its contribution to the Lake Cowal Foundation and Lake Cowal Conservation Centre.
Bill was an inaugural director of Foundation and has been Company Secretary since incorporation in 2000. After some local rejection of the Foundation, Bill's efforts to engage the local communities to work collaboratively on local conservation initiatives has the Foundation well placed to become a well respected conservation group at Lake Cowal. Bill is determined that this partnership will be successful to the benefit of the three conservation groups that are signatories to the Foundation, Barrick, local landowners and wider local communities. He is also determined that the Foundation become a role model that can be used both regionally and nationally to foster better community relations with environmental outcomes elsewhere.
While Bill spends his working life around Lake Cowal he is a life long Parkes resident. His wife Evelyn is also a life long resident having grown up at Alectown. They have four children Angela, Belinda, Rebecca and Michael.
