Students

The LCCC will be used as a place for students to experience the local environment and undertake studies relevant to their school curriculum. Through this learning process students will also be making a contribution to restore the natural environment through seed collection, propagation, revegetation and monitoring of different plant communities. The specific objectives of the LCCC in relation to students are:

  • Develop educational programs to encompass a complete range of activities and issues so that students can appreciate the relevance of the school curriculum and subjects within the environmental contexts of the Lachlan Catchment;
  • Establish student activities and provide access to a range of field studies and learning environments;
  • Develop the knowledge and skills base of students in local environmental issues, responsible environmental management practices and appropriate restoration techniques through practical experience combined with a range of learning materials and activities;
  • To provide students with the opportunity to learn from professionals and practitioners involved in many aspects of natural resource management; and
  • Continue to monitor, review and adapt activities and resources to ensure an effective, efficient and engaging educational program is developed in collaboration.
